Swaledale Guided Walks

Two walks from the centre of Reeth. Reeth has regular bus services. There is also plenty of parking around the Green (charge):

Western Route to Maiden Castle

Distance: 5.25 miles / 8.5 km
Ascent and Descent: 687' / 210m

Start from the Green in Reeth and take the lane running downhill with the Congregational Chapel to your left. You soon join Quaker Lane and turn right along this until you turn left towards the swing bridge over the River Swale.

Eastern Route to Marrick Priory

Distance: 7.5 miles / 12 km
Ascent and Descent: 1020' / 310m

Start from the Green in Reeth and walk down the main road towards Grinton. Cross over Reeth Bridge and after about 130 metres take the footpath to your right, towards the river.
